    Aero Amo (RCC) earns All-NSIC honors

    BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Augustana wrestling team had five wrestlers earn All-NSIC honors the league office announced on Thursday. Aero AmoBen Goodwin and Michael Lowman earned first team All-NSIC accolades and Brandon Carroll and Tyler Nation were named second team All-NSIC.

    With five Vikings earning All-NSIC honors, it is the most to earn the honor since 2011-12 when the Vikings had six named to the team. Also the three first team All-NSIC honorees are the most since 2010-11 when the Vikings also had three first teamers.

    The Vikings had the second most All-NSIC honorees, behind St. Cloud State's eight. Augustana also had the second most first team All-NSIC winners, behind St. Cloud State's four.

    Amo, a junior from Rapid City, S.D., earns first team All-NSIC honors at 184 pounds for the second consecutive season and earns All-NSIC honors for the third time in his career. Amo was the Super Region 3 Champion at 184 pounds and earned All-American honors with a fifth place finish at the NCAA Championships last weekend. Amo finished the season with a 38-9 record.

    Goodwin, a senior from Lincoln, Neb., earned first team All-NSIC accolades at 197 pounds for the first time in his career. Goodwin won the Super Region 3 Championship at 197 pounds and went 1-2 at Nationals. Goodwin finished the season with a record of 22-11 and had a career record of 34-16.

    Lowman, a senior from North Highlands, Calif., was named first team All-NSIC for the first time of his career. Lowman finished second at the Super Region 3 Championship at 285 pounds and took fourth at the NCAA Championships earning All-American honors. Lowman concluded the season with a record of 29-11 and had a career record of 112-47.

    Carroll, a freshman from Sioux Falls, S.D., earned second team All-NSIC honors at 125 pounds. Carroll took second at the Super Region 3 Championships and went 0-2 at Nationals. Carroll was one of two true freshman to earn All-NSIC honors. Carroll finished his season with a 20-13 record.

    Nation, a senior from Scottsbluff, Neb., earned second team All-NSIC accolades for the first time in his career. Nation finished in third at the Super Region 3 Championships at 157 pounds and went 1-2 at Nationals. Nation finished the season with a record of 21-12 and had a career record of 40-23.

    MSU Moorhead's Blake Bosch was named NSIC Wrestler of the Year and St. Cloud State's James Pleski and Steve Costanzo were named NSIC Rookie of the Year and NSIC Coach of the Year, respectively.
