SD Mines Men's Soccer: Daledovich earns RMAC Goalkeeper of the Week Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- South Dakota School of Mines men’s soccer player Kyle Daledovich was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week after his performance this past weekend in which he contributed to the 1-0-1 record for his Hardrocker team at a tournament in Grand Junction, Colo.

Daledovich is a 6-foot-4-inch, 200-pound junior from Lohman, Mo., who is majoring in Mechanical Engineering. During the tournament in Grand Junction, Daledovich did not allow any goals in the Hardrockers’ 0-0 tie to Newman University and 2-0 win over Lubbock Christian.

“Anytime we can get RMAC recognition the whole team is really excited. Kyle did a great job this weekend in an extremely challenging position,” said Hardrocker men’s soccer head coach Andrew Conniff. “Making one mistake as a goalkeeper generally means the other team scores, so to post two consecutive clean sheets means he was near-perfect on the weekend.”

Daledovich, who also earn RMAC Goalkeeper of the Week at the end of the 2016 season, leads the RMAC in saves to open the 2017 campaign with 12 in his 200 minutes of play.

“As much as Kyle can relish this award, his defenders and midfielders played a huge part in limiting our opponents to just a few dangerous chances,” Conniff said. “They will equally celebrate Kyle’s recognition and will keep working so that he’s in those opportunity to get more.”

The Hardrocker have their home opener on Friday, taking on the University of Mary Marauders in a 6 p.m. but at Sioux Park Stadium in Rapid City, S.D.
