    Season Preview

COACH BRUCE BRESEE GAVE SDSB THE FOLLOWING SEASON PREVIEW INFORMATION FOR THE SPARTANS:

Our experience in our skill positions is defiantly going to be our strength along with good depth.  There is a new outlook in Spearfish Football since returning to 11A football. We have a great schedule with a mix of 11AA, A & B Football teams.  The exciting feeling of "WE can Compete" is the talk of the Spartans, and we also hope to reestablish some old rilvalries.

Offensively We are returning Monte Meyerrink, Brandon Kemp, & Mason Kaitfors that all had some time at QB last year. At RB Nate Rotert, Riley Shewak  & Luke Marcoe, and  In the off line Luke Johnson, Brady Harr, & Brendon Eymers are returning & Jay Darling at WR.

Defensive impact players are Rotert, Luke Mcfarland, Drew Dietrich, Dereck Hall, Andy Nelson, & Luke Gainey.

As far as the top team in class A football, I would have to give it to Harrisburg & Dell Rapids. We are some what unfamiliar with the A's, but I was impressed by those two teams in the dome last year.

    Lyle Hare Stadium (Spearfish)

Black Hills State University is the home of Lyle Hare Stadium. Apologies for not listing Lyle Hare Stadium in the poll, it was an oversight by yours truly. One thing I always notice about this stadium/field is the wind! It seems the stadium is situated so as to maximize the gusts, but in terms of great facilities this is one of the best in the state. Rather than try and give historical background on this facility I recommend that you visit a superb description provided by BHSU: click here to read the complete background on Lyle Hare Stadium.
