Coach Lange gave SDSB the following season preview information:
What is your team outlook for 2011-2012?
We are looking to be competitive this season in the conference and district. We are a much younger team than last year, but we have good size and athletic ability this year. If we can stay healthy this year, we will be a tough team to beat.
Which of your players do you expect to have the most "impact" this year?
We have two seniors back, Tessiah Sprague and Megan Boston. Both were all conference last year and our "go to" girls last season. Their leadership will be crucial to our season's success. We need our juniors (Shelbie Budmayr and Caitlyn Dowling) to step up and be scoring threats to give our seniors a chance to get one on one opportunities. Sophomore Liz Day will also need to be a scoring threat to give us balance on offense.
Which teams will be your toughest competition?
We have a tough conference and district this year. St. Thomas More returns almost their whole team from last year. Caitlyn Duffy is a great player and she has a good supporting cast. Spearfish will also have a competitive team.
Which new players do you anticipate on your 2011-2012 roster?
We have a great class of sophomores that will come in and support our starters. Fehrin Ward, Taylor Gubbrud, Madison Huffman, Kassie Willard, Maclyn Hauck, Rachel Zacher, and Paige Bush will all get varsity experience this year. These girls love to play the game and work hard.
The Broncs finished the 2010-2011 season with a record of 14-5.
