    Season Preview

Coach Kramer gave SDSB the following season preview information for the Bison:

Season Outlook: This was one of the more interesting pre seasons with STM, Custer and Lead-Deadwood going down and the addition of Spearfish to Class 11A.

I think Spearfish andBelle Fourchewill make some noise early. Those 2 games are must wins for us to secure a top seed in the Region. Dell Rapids is hands down the team to beat in class 11A. Coach Hansen has a stable of athletes over there and I don’t see them missing a beat from last years state title season.

We entered a coop with Oelrichs this year so we’re excited to have the addition of 10-12 guys to the team. I’m looking forward to the competition in practice and the ability to bring the 2 communities together on Friday nights.

Having a full coaching staff will enable us to concentrate on more individual positions and get the new kids up to speed quicker. We must come out of the gates better than we have in the past and get better everyday. I’m not at all worried about our youth; these kids are excited to play football.

Impact players on offense: Brady Harkless RB/LB (senior), Ty Hill RB/LB (junior), Justin Pekron OL/DL (junior), Shane Hansen (WR/DB) (junior)

Impact players on defense: Brady Harkless, Shane Hansen, Ty Hill

Overall I’ve never been more excited to start a football season. We graduated a great group of not just football players but top notch kids. You hate to lose guys like that but at the same time a new group has been patiently waiting for their chance. Now its just a matter of putting the pieces together.
